A Conversation with Pablo Bolivar

The Bolivar Sound Meets Saisons Musique

[Artist Interview]

We sat down with Pablo to explore his journey through electronic music's evolving landscape, his approach to collaborative creation, and the healing philosophy that drives his artistry.

Pablo Bolivar's remix of Tamanaku flows from introspective moments to peak-time energy, resonating beautifully on both intimate and expansive systems. Originally featured on Kora's Azimuth Nord album, the track explores a shared journey through natural alignment and rhythm. Reg Ina later brought a new dimension with her captivating vocal mix. Now, Pablo reimagines it with his sophisticated, immersive style — bridging Kora's organic soundscapes with his own celebrated touch, known from releases on Desolat, Culprit, and his Seven Villas imprint.

  • Q: For those discovering your work through this remix, could you share your journey in electronic music and the sound you've cultivated over the years?

Hi team, I am glad to reply to your questions :)

Well, I started around 1996 playing trance and progressive music for a couple of years, but I discovered techno music around 1998 and everything changed. After playing techno for some years I moved to house music, the deep and minimal sound around 2001. Was then when I started my first productions, a mixture of deep techno and house, influenced by the minimal sound of that era.

In 2004 I released my first record called "Next Player", and in 2006 the first long play "Anjanas". Since then, my sound has become more mature every year.

Now, if I look back to my 25 years of experience, I am proud to see albums of downtempo, ambient, techno, house, minimal and experimental music.

  • Q: Between Seven Villas, Avantroots, Pulshar, Mindgroove projects, and your solo work, you manage an impressive creative output. What's currently exciting you most in your artistic universe?

The freedom in production. I am collaborating with super talented artists around the world, and we release what we really feel, no boundaries.

  • Q: Throughout your career, you've engaged in numerous successful collaborations. How do you approach these partnerships, and are there any dream collaborations you're hoping to realize in the future?

We work online, sharing ideas, draft songs… and the magic comes very fast.

One of my dream collaborations is already done, the album "Details Am Rande" with Sensual Physics. And hopefully more collaborations to come!

  • Q: Has living in Spain shaped your sound in any way, not just musically, but maybe through light, architecture, or the pace of life?

Indeed, I think the nature of Spain has been a powerful inspiration for me since the beginning.

Beyond Production: The Healing Touch

  • Q: Beyond your own music, you've established yourself as a mixing and mastering engineer for other artists. How do these different roles in the industry feed into each other?

It was one of my jobs some years ago, but these days I don't have too much time to co-produce other artists, I am just working with a couple of friends at the moment.

  • Q: Your "Dream Dub Mix" approach has become a distinctive feature in several of your remixes. Could you tell us about what defines this particular style and how you applied it to the Tamanaku remix?

I always look for deep pieces to remix, I love to give my personal touch with dreamy melodies, but always keeping the classic spirit of techno or house. Normally my remixes are more club oriented than my personal productions, I try to create playable remixes.

  • Q: If your music could serve a purpose beyond entertainment, what would you hope it gives to those who listen?

Healing music.

I have received some messages telling me that my music helped people passing through "bad times". I am very proud of this, it seems my albums are "sound therapy" for some human beings.

Music is the cure.

What's Next

  • Q: What upcoming releases, tours, or projects should your fans be looking forward to in the coming months?

I am finalizing many projects: just finished a new record with the great Vril, and the album with Alexandra Savvidi is almost finished. For 2026 I am working on a new album with Dovim and also an atmospheric drum & bass album is in the making.

A new audio visual live act around Europe will be presented in the next few months.
